Wendy McKing 11/27/2009

A Fast Food Masterpiece.
Wendy McKing
Wendy McKing
Here we have a Wendy's jr bacon cheeseburger, McDonald's double cheeseburger and a Burger King bacon double cheeseburger combined into 1 sandwich... AND IT'S DELICIOUS! The sandwich itself is 1040 calories. Add the fries at 500 calories and you have yourself a light snack that totals just over 1500 calories!

I highly recommend that you do not try to make this burger. It's time consuming driving to three restaurants and IT COULD KILL YOU! Eating this was a huge mistake as I now feel absolutely horrible. But it was totally worth it.

Hungry Man? 11/15/2009

Today's cheeseburger comes to us from a convenience store freezer.
Hungry-Man XXL Sandwich: Angus Beef Charbroil
Picture
This gem was found in a 7-Eleven freezer so I'm not sure how much truth there is in the "NEW!" that's on the package. Can't help but notice that they won't call their product a cheeseburger on the box.
Picture
Wow... This sandwich already looks like a huge failure. Ok so we wrap this Bad Larry in a paper towel and put it in the radiation machine, turn it on, DING! Wait a few minutes and then remove onto a paper plate. Can't help but notice that the bun is rock hard as I take it out...
Picture
Yeah, the bun is completely inedible. I decided to cover the burger in ketchup and mustard to try and salvage this mess. Which did not work. I tried to cut it in half with a knife. That did not work. Finally, I removed the bun, threw it away and cut the burger in half so I could try to eat it. I was only able to choke down a quarter of this disgusting beast of a burger. I tried to give piece of it to my dog and I swear to god... He wouldn't touch it! He even seemed mad that I put it in his bowl.
Picture
In conclusion... Don't eat this. Ever. There's no need. 24 Hour fast food joints are everywhere. It may be more convenient to stop at a convenience store, but there's nothing good to be said about this sandwich. You'd be much better off with a Snickers.

The next cheeseburger to make the blog comes to us from
Pizza Works 222 Cambridge Street, Burlington, MA, 01803.
Toppings include: Bacon, Lettuce, Tomatoes and Pickles with American Cheese.
Picture
Typically I get a little nervous when I see an unseeded bun, but this time I was pleasantly surprised. Pillowy yet firm... This bun really held the goods together. The tomatoes were fresh, lettuce was crisp and they used diced pickles! Are diced pickles really that big a deal? Yes. With pickle chips you tend to take one bite and the entire pickle comes out, leading to a poor pickle-to-burger ratio. The only problem I had was with the bacon. While I could taste it at times... I sure couldn't see it. I like my bacon hanging out the side and see it more as an extra little treat to pull out than a topping.

Picture
All that being said... This burger was a hundred times better than the last Burlington burger I reviewed. PLUS... There's an ice cream joint in the same parking lot. Cheeseburgers and Ice Cream FTW!

The Baconator 11/11/2009

Picture
In this blog I want to showcase one of my favorite fast-food burgers. From Wendy's... The one... The only... The BACONATOR. Six strips of Applewood smoked bacon, two 1/4 lb. beef patties two slices of American cheese, mayo, ketchup, lettuce and tomato. Basically it's everything that should be on a burger.
Picture
It came to me encased in a silvery grease-locking warmth blanket. Otherwise known in the biz as a "Wrapper". I know it says Hamburger on there, but don't be deceived. It does in fact contain the hunger destroying beast known as the Baconator.
Picture
As far as fast food burgers go... It's really hard to beat this sandwich. It holds up against the attack of my face, unlike it's soggy-bunned counterparts from other chains. The bacon is crispy but not charcoal, there's the perfect amount of cheese and plenty of juicy beef.

This burger may not be a gourmet designer burger, but you definitely won't find this on any cheapo menu anytime soon. Remember... If you can eat it with one hand, it's not a real cheeseburger.

Today's cheeseburger comes to us from your local grocer's freezer.
Picture
That's right! White Castle frozen cheeseburgers! They have to be good... Hell, there was a movie dedicated to their deliciousness. Unfortunately, here in Massachusetts, we have no White Castle restaurants...
Picture
Ok so we have 3 packages of two "sliders". Instructions are to snap them apart, open one end of the package and microwave for 60 seconds. Can do!
Picture
The first thing you have to deal with when you open the microwave is the smell. They smell horrible, but it's probably just because you should never nuke onions.
Picture
I can't stress enough how disappointed I am with these cheeseburgers. Just look at what's on them! the patty is thinner than a piece of juicy fruit, the cheese had to be sliced by magical elves with tiny knives and there's about 6 bits of onion on there.

These cheeseburgers are horrible, but that's what makes them sooooo good. They are disgusting, but every week I pick up a 6-pack from the store, cook up the whole box and dip them in barbecue sauce while watching re-runs of Two and a Half Men.

Don't buy them thinking you'll get a good meal out of them. They royally suck. Only eat them if you're in the mood to sit on the couch and be a complete slob. You won't feel good after you eat them, but isn't that how you're supposed to feel after a cheeseburger?

The first cheeseburger to make the blog comes to us from
Londi's Famous Roast Beef 85 Wilmington Road, Burlington, MA, 01803.
Picture
This is pretty much your basic cheeseburger that you get in any small shop. Toppings include: Lettuce, Tomatoes and Pickles with American Cheese.
Picture
Honestly it's not the best cheeseburger I've ever had. The lettuce and tomatoes weren't exactly fresh and their wasn't a lot of flavor. But I have had much worse. On the plus side, if you get the dinner, you get a TON of fries and onion rings. I know that every joint gives you these items, but they have really good fries.
