Almost forgot to blog this one. Today's cheeseburger was purchased from...
Deli Works & Pizzeria 62 Montvale Ave, Stoneham, MA.

I used to live around the corner from this joint but never went there for food. I've heard some good things about them so I decided to check it out. It seems the person who placed the order via website for me either made a slight mistake or their computer glitched. The order was supposed to be 2 cheeseburger dinners, a cheeseburger sub and a cheeseburger calzone. We ended up getting an extra cheeseburger dinner and there were 2 cheeseburgers in every dinner plate! This is totally our fault and not the restaurants but I still don't know if the dinners are supposed to have 2 burgers or just the one... But that doesn't matter, I only want to tell you how it tastes.

Deli Works Bacon Cheeseburger
So here it is. Ignore the lean. It's clearly just being gangstah. This was  actually a really good cheeseburger. On it we have bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup and mustard. Side note... Awesome crunchy onion rings. The bun was lightly toasted and buttery... It sort of tasted like a grilled cheese with a delicious burger shoved inside.

Granted I must stress that this is no gourmet burger. I will hardly ever review one of those places. And I refuse to eat anywhere that tries to tell me what toppings can and can't be used on my burger. This is just a delicious cheesy beef bundle of joy that beats anything else I've had in Stoneham. Very convenient location right off of 93. Do yourself a favor if you're in the area and pretend that Wendy's, McDonald's and Burger King aren't in the area, because this place beats them all.

Today it snowed. Which means no venturing off into the world and just watching movies all day. But that gets boring real quick. So since I always have beef and cheese at the ready, I decided to make a cheeseburger. Ladies & Gentlemen, I present to you...

The Pizza Burger
This is super delicious. Just cook a cheeseburger with cheddar and sandwich it between two pieces of Elio's sausage and pepperoni Pizza. By pieces I mean snap off two of the three pieces of the larger piece. Be careful cooking the pizza. If you leave it in too long it gets too crunchy to use as a bun. And that's it! I was insanely bored and made a really bad for you burger. Hope you enjoyed this slight departure from my regular review.

Are you not entertained?! Today's cheeseburger was purchased from...

Pizza Market 492 Main Street, Woburn, MA.

Yes. I went to another pizza place for a burger. But this joint is more than just pizza. (It's really good pizza too.) They have calzones, wraps, subs... All the junk you expect. (All of that is really good).  But how's the cheeseburger?

While they may not be "Gourmet", they do make one hell of a cheeseburger. I got mine with mayo, lettuce and tomato on a sesame seed bun. I ordered the dinner plate so it came with fries. Usually pizza places don't even try to make a decent burger but Pizza Market knocked it out of the park. Perfectly cooked, gooey warm american cheese and the fries were both crunchy and moist and complimented the burger. I did not use any ketchup for this meal because I didn't want to mask any of the flavors. Never, EVER do I get a burger this good when I phone in a delivery. The only problem was my hatred of shredded lettuce. But that's easily overlooked with the explosion of delicious flavor that comes with every bite.

Right now this is the best burger in Woburn, MA. There are still a ton of places to check out in that city though. I just hate risking getting a bad lunch from somewhere else when I know that this gem of a burger is only a phone call away. But if I'm going to continue this cheeseburger blog then I need to move on. Great job Pizza Market!

Got a Kraving? 12/13/2009

Time for another super-exciting cheeseburger blog post! Today's cheeseburger was purchased from...

I was a little biased against this place and was going to avoid it completely, but I needed a burger and it was convenient. You see this place used to be a really great dive of a pool hall back in the days where you could still smoke in Massachusetts. It turned into a restaurant called Crazy Karry's or something like that, but nobody went there. Then it became a restaurant called Flighty's? But no one went there either. Now it's Kravings etc.... And... ONE person went there... Me. Swear to god... Only car in the parking lot. But enough of that. I don't judge the restaurant. I only care about the burgers.

At first glance it's "Meh". Looks like it's just your basic patty, boring piece of processed american cheese on a plain and simple sesame seed bun. But at SECOND glance... It's far worse.

Cheeseburger Rule #1: Cheese matters. When I pull off the top bun, I shouldn't see what looks like a kraft single on my burger. That's technically not cheese. I'm not saying that's what it is, because honestly I'm not sure but it looks pretty suspect.

Cheeseburger Rule #2: Quarter turn when grilling. You must have cross grill marks whenever you grill beef. Pretty sure it's part of the test when you get your cheeseburger license. These grill marks look fake and make me wonder if they came precooked and frozen just to be nuked for my order.

Cheeseburger Rule #3: Leaf Lettuce.  It is NEVER ok to use shredded lettuce on a cheeseburger. Green leaf lettuce is the best. Iceberg is too watery. Oh and the veggies go on top. Burger juice is supposed to seep into the bottom bun.

So they broke all three of my rules. The burger wasn't horrible, but if that's what they are going to serve then maybe they shouldn't even bother with them. Stay away from their cheesy-beefiness.

I usually don't do this because it's a Cheeseburger blog, but I felt I had to give them something. They have awesome chicken finger subs. Yeah I got two dinners. So what? They have a bunch of different variations too. I got the Chicken deluxe, Crispy chicken fingers, Bacon, American cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo,  & BBQ sauce. Heaven on a roll...

Mama Mia! 12/05/2009

Today's cheeseburger comes to us from

Pizza Mia 758 Boston Road Billerica, MA 01821. www.pizzamia.org
I know that typically, when pizza is in the name of their restaurant, you don't get delicious cheeseburgers. However, in this case... You still don't. I ordered the cheeseburger plate. Comes with fries and a salad. Obviously the salad is a throw away item so forget I mentioned it. When I opened the styrofoam packaging I was shocked by what I found...
WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! Half a cheeseburger sub? Yup. To be fair I had ordered 2 cheeseburger dinners and 1 cheeseburger sub. I'm hoping that they screwed up and made 2 cheeseburger subs, said "Whoops" and just served it that way to avoid waste. Because if that's truly their cheeseburger, then I am offended and appalled.

Now clearly I like cheeseburger subs or I wouldn't have ordered one. But when I order a cheeseburger sub, it's because I wanted a cheeseburger sub. But when you want a true cheeseburger.... The sub roll just won't do. The bread is the most important part of the cheeseburger! It holds everything together. A sub roll is too chewy and this particular one refused to tear, making the actual eating process annoyingly difficult.

These were your common cheeseburger patties that you find everywhere. Not horrible but also nothing worth going out of your way for. If you're hungry, in Billerica and want food that won't make you sick... Then go to Pizza Mia. Maybe if you ask nicely they'll use buns when you go.
